McGrath Pond/Salmon Lake Association

Welcome to the official website for the McGrath Pond and Salmon Lake Association. We are located in the beautiful towns of Belgrade and Oakland, in cental Maine. It is our goal with this website to keep members informed on all issues pertaining to our waterways.

Presidents Message

A lake is priceless. It is fragile, vulnerable and, sometimes, dangerous. It requires concern, watchfulness, involvement and effort by those who love it and use it to keep it safe, clean, beautiful and well managed. This is the goal of the McGrath Pond Salmon Lake Association, formed by a small group of lakeshore property owners and since grown to include hundreds of members, lake dwellers and non-lake dwellers, seasonal and year round who care deeply about our watershed.

Here is a partial list of the Association's accomplishments and on-going projects:

•Purchase buoys for channel markers and lake hazards
•Educational efforts for our lake community
•Actively involved in water quality and invasive plant issues
•Donate time and money to lake efforts
•Produce several newsletters to better keep the public informed.
•Provided financial support to enable Courtesy Boat inspectors and the Conservation Corp.

Perhaps even more important that these accomplishments, the Association can speak as one voice, representing the views and wishes of its members at all levels of government on issues affecting the lake and its surroundings. Incidentally, we also have fun - parties and meeting where you can form new friendships or renew old ones, glean all the latest lowdown on topics from Variable Leaf Milfoil to Boat Inspections, vote on Association issues and activities, and even propose new ones. There is also a newsletter to keep your membership informed between meetings. We do all this for modest annual dues. But even more important, we need everyone's interest and involvement to protect the future of the lake.

The McGrath Pond Salmon Lake Association is open to anyone who is concerned about preserving the beauty and protecting the natural environment of our ponds. Our goal is to maintain a lake that is clean and safe for swimming, boating, skiing, fishing, and to preserve it for today and for future generations.Together we can make a difference!
